Friday, Saturday or sunday

Arrival: Cancun

Arrival: Cancun Intl. airport.  You will lodge on the beach in Playa del Carmen on the Caribbean side of Mexico.

(driving: 40 min. from Cancun)

 1) Monday

Tulum and the Cenotes

Off to the quiet Beaches of Tulum. Swim or Snorkel the Cenotes and enjoy the beach all day.  Evening drive to Palenque.

(Drive total: 8 hrs)

2) Tuesday

Palenque and the jungle.

Visit the Palenque ruins with a local guide. Hike the Jungle or just relax at the Jungle lodge.

 

3) Wednesday

Yachilan and Bonampax

To Yachilan and Bonampax by the Guatemala border.  An incredible journey into the inlands of Chiapas. Night in the Lacandon forest with the local people by the Lacanja river.

4) Thursday

San Cristobal de las Casas

Drive to San Cristobal de las casas and stops on the way to the Lagunas of Montebello.

(Drive: 6 hrs)

5) Friday

San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan

Visit San Cristobal de las Casas in the Morning and the villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan in the afternoon.  We will spend time with an indigenous family in their home of Zinacantan.  Night out at the Blue bar

(Drive: 20 min)

(Should we mention the Blue Bar is an optional activity? Beers $2, drinks $2.50)

6) Saturday

The Sumidero Canyon

To the Canyon del Sumidero in the morning and the rest of the day to visit San Cristobal.

(Drive: 1 hr)

 

7) Sunday

Tonina and Palenque

Visit the Mayan site of Tonina

Week 2

8) Monday

Agua Azul and Misol-ha

Enjoy a day at the the Magical waterfalls of Agua Azul and Misol-Ha. Night in the Jungle of Palenque in El Panchan once more.

(Drive total: 2 hrs)

9) Tuesday

Campeche, Campeche

To The City of Campeche on the Gulf of Mexico, evening to visit the fort and the town.

(Drive: 4 hrs)

 

10) Wednesday

Uxmal and Edzna

To the ruins of Adzna, Uxmal and then to Merida for the night.

(Drive: 4 hrs)

11) Thursday

Merida, Yucatan

Day in  Merida, visit of the town , hammock shopping and a night out in town.  We can also leave for Chichen Itza in the evening and see the light and sound show.

(Drive: 1 hr)

 

12) Friday

Chichen Itza

To Chichen Itza and back to Playa del Carmen or Cancun

Guided tour of Chichen Itza

(Drive: 4 hrs)

13) Saturday

The end

Back on the beaches of Playa del Carmen or Tulum.
