Day 1

Sunday

 

Arrival: Mexico City

Arrival:  Mexico Airport.  We will stay in the historic center, 2 minutes away from the famous "Zocalo".

Dinner together in one of the many Zocalo restaurants.

Day 2

Monday

Mexico City

Activities: Walking tour of the historic center (4hrs) including: Palacio Nacional, Cathedral Metropolitana, Templo Mayor, Iglesia de Santo Domingo, etc..

There is the possibility to assist a soccer game in the evening or a mariachi's show.

Day 3

Tuesday

Teotihuacan

Activities:  Guided tour of Teotihuacan site with a local guide.

Hotel:  Hotel Posada Sol y Luna (tel: 956 23 68)

 

Day 4

Wednesday

Puebla

Activities:  On the way to the city of Puebla; well known for  its talavera tiles, we will stop at the Cuetzalan waterfalls.  You are free to visit the city in the evening.

Day 5

Thursday

Oaxaca

Activities: A morning visit of Puebla and the Fuerte de Guadalupe. We will arrive in Oaxaca around 6 pm.

Hotel:  Posada del Centro 

 

Day 6

Friday

Oaxaca

Activities: A visit of Hierve el Agua in the mini bus with a stop at el Tule. Return to Oaxaca around 6 pm and  a free evening to explore.

Day 7

Saturday

Oaxaca

Activities: A Visit of Monte Alban with a local guide.  Take the afternoon to visit the city highlights.

Day 8

Sunday

San Jose del Pacifico

Activities: We will arrive in San Jose del Pacifico (a little town in the mountains) early in the morning and will take advantage of the day to hike to some waterfalls with a local guide.

Hotel: Cabanas Puesta del Sol.

 

Second week

Day 9

Monday

Puerto Escondido

Activities: We will arrive in Puerto Escondido around noon.  After all the driving take the afternoon to relax on the beach and play in the surf.

Day 10

Tuesday

Mazunte

Activities: A Visit of Manialtepec Laguna in lancha.  Discover this amazing lagune and its exotic birds.  We will then head towards Mazunte and watch the sunset with a picnic at Punta Cometa, the most southern point of Mexico

Day 11

Wednesday

San Crisotbal de las Casas

Activities: Road trip to the colonial city of de San Cristobal de las Casas in the mountains of Chiapas.

Evening out at the Blue Bar.

Day 12

Thursday

San Cristobal de las Casas

Activities: Free to visit of San Cristobal in the morning and  then we depart for the indigenous village of San Juan Chamula in the afternoon.  We will also visit a house of a local family in the village of Zinacantan.

Day 13

Friday

Palenque

Activities: We arrive in Palenque towards lunch time.  Visit the archelogicale site with a local guide in the afternoon.

Hotel:  El Panchan

 

Day 14

Saturday

Palenque

Activities: Early  morning departure for Agua Azul waterfalls and Misol-Ha.  Complete day to swim and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Day 15

Sunday

Palenque

On the way to the Usumacinta River that separates Mexico from Guatemala, we will visit the lost ruins of Yaxchilan.  It will take approximately an hour in a lancha (boat) to bring us tp this amazing site away untouched by modern civilaization.

Hotel:  El Panchan.

 

Day 16

Monday

Bacalar

Activities: Departure for Bacalar, a beautifull clear blue water laguna that we can explore in kayaks.

Day 17

Tuesday

Cenote Azul

Activities:  Breakfast at Cenote Azul where we can take a moment for a swim.  We will hit the road towards Playa del Carmen with a stop on a deserted beach for a picnic and swim to cool off.

Day 18

Wednesday

Akumal

Activities:  Snorkeling in Akumal with marine turtles and many other underwater beauties.  Spend the day on one of the most superb beaches in the area.

Day 19

Thursday

Tulum

Activities: An early departure to visit the Tulum archelogical site with a local guide.  We will stop at Grand Cenote on the way back for a swim.

Day 20

Friday

Playa del Carmen

Activities:  Free day to relax and enjoy the white sands and turquoise waters of the Carribean sea.

** Possibility to go to Xel-Ha or Xcaret or Discovery Jungle Park (Optional Activities)

Day 21

Saturday

The end

Already the end!!!...Transportation to Cancun airport.
